Player Notes
– With his 37th career start, quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson moves into sole possession of fourth place all-time for games started by a UCLA quarterback.
– Thompson-Robinson passed Josh Rosen to claim third place all-time in total offensive yards after throwing an 18-yard pass to Keegan Jones early in the second quarter. Thompson-Robinson exited the game with 101 yards for a career-total of 9,208 yards.
– Both UCLA quarterbacks surpassed the 100-yard mark in the air. Thompson-Robinson completed the game with 101 passing yards, and redshirt sophomore Ethan Garbers added 164 yards in just under three quarters of play.
– Garbers rushed for two touchdowns, marking the second-consecutive week in which a Bruin QB found the endzone twice on the ground.
– Redshirt junior Keegan Jones scored a touchdown for the second-consecutive week. It was Jones’ first rushing touchdown since Dec. 19, 2020 vs. Stanford.
– Redshirt junior Hudson Habermehl scored his first career touchdown in a Bruin uniform, catching a 25-yarder from Thompson-Robinson late in the first quarter.
– Two Bruins forced fumbles for the first time in their collegiate careers. Linebacker Laiatu Latu sacked Alabama State’s Myles Crawley late in the first and redshirt senior Bo Calvert forced the ball out of bounds to end the quarter.
– Redshirt sophomore Grayson Murphy has recorded sacks in consecutive weeks to start the season.
– Freshman T.J. Harden found the endzone for the first time as a Bruin with a 13-yard rush in the third quarter.
– Running back Christian Grubb rushed for his first-career touchdown early in the fourth quarter. The score came as part of a series of the redshirt junior’s first-career carries in a UCLA uniform.
– A pair of defensive backs recorded their first-career interceptions in Saturday’s game. Redshirt freshman Jaylin Davies returned the ball 46 yards before being taken down in the third quarter, and D.J. Justice snagged an interception in the endzone during the final quarter of play.
– After an eight-point outing, kicker Nicholas Barr-Mira jumps up to 23nd on UCLA’s all-time scoring list with 159 career points.

– UCLA has scored in 19-consecutive quarters dating back to Nov. 13, 2021 when the Bruins faced Colorado.
– The Bruins were a perfect 4-4 in the red zone in the first half, finding the endzone once in the air and three times on the ground.
– The Bruins held Alabama State to just 14 rushing yards in the first half. The staunch UCLA run defense stifled the Hornets, allowing only 87 rushing yards in the game.
– UCLA finished with five rushing touchdowns, the most in a game since the Bruins took down Colorado on Nov. 13, 2021.
– The Bruins ended with 45 points in two-consecutive games to begin the season. UCLA’s 90 points over the opening two games mark the most the team has scored since the start of the 2017 season (101 points – 45 vs. Texas A&M, 9/3/2017 and 56 vs. Hawai’I, 9/9/2017).
